Oily Skin CareOil glands known as the sebaceous glands are responsible for the production of oil. These glands are more active and bigger in the nose region than any other areas on the face. The oily skin is shiny, thick and dark in colour. It is more prone to blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. The oily skin attracts more dirt and dust as compare to any other skin type. Most of the people with oily skin have blemishes or other marks due to acne and pimples. The skin texture is coarse and the skin pores are also enlarged. There are subsequent hormonal changes in adolescents, so the teenagers are prone to oily skin. It can also occur at any age. Oily skin has one main advantage that the wrinkles and skin discolorations don’t occur soon. The various causes of oily skin are:
Treatment For Oily SkinAny kind of skin type needs care and proper cleaning. Same is the case with oily skin. It need frequent washing with hot water and soap in order to avoid the clogging of pores. The face should be cleaned at least 2-3 times in a day. Harsh products should be avoided as they wipe off the essential oil needed by the skin. The various skin products and cosmetics that leave the skin tight and dehydrated should also be avoided. It’s always better to apply an oil free moisturizer to keep the skin soft and smooth after every wash. 1) Take 100 grams of raw milk and squeeze one-fourth lemon in a glass vessel. Apply this on the face and hands and after 5-10 minutes wash it with lukewarm water. 2) Mix 60 grams of gram pulse, half teaspoonful of turmeric powder, raw milk, 8-10 drops of mustard, olive oil to make a thick paste. Apply the paste on the face, neck, arms, hand, feet, elbows and knees. Let it dry and then rub the paste all over with palms and remove it. Later wash the parts with luke warm water. This paste is best when applied half an hour before bathing. 3) Cucumber lotion is best for oily skin. Grate cucumber and sieve in a cloth. In 30 grams of cucumber water add half teaspoonful of lemon juice and half teaspoonful of rose water. Apply this mixture on the face and neck with the help of cotton ball. After an hour wash the face with lukewarm water. 4) Soak 4-5 almonds overnight, peel them and make a fine paste by adding half a teaspoon of honey. Apply on the face and wash after 20 minutes. 5) Mix one-tablespoon orange peel powder with one-tablespoon honey and half teaspoon limejuice. Leave it for 10 minutes and wash the face. 6) Take one tablespoon of fuller’s earth or multani mitti and one teaspoon rose water. Soak the mud for some time in little water. When it is moist and pliable add rose water and mix. Apply on the face for 15-20 minutes. Then wash the face with fresh water.
