Symptoms of Dandruff
Flaking
Dandruff is a common skin condition in which the scalp sheds excessive amount of dead skin(epidermis) from the scalp. Dead epidermal (skin) cells which are some kind of visible dust-like stuff or flakes are to shed(flake) from scalp to shoulders. This is the most embarrassing and most obvious sign.
Flaking causes the dead skin to fall onto the shoulders and neck in excessive amounts. The scalp shed dead cells which are invisible to human eye, but when the shedding is very often , then the cells are shed in much larger amounts and become visible and become noticeable.
Itching
Itching may be due to excessive shedding of dead cells(epidermis) from the scalp or as a result of inflammation of your scalp . This is caused by the fungus that actually causes dandruff by irritating the scalp
Redness
Redness is caused due to inflammation of the scalp and is not only found on the scalp, but other ares of the body like around the eyebrows, cheeks, behind the ears etc..
Other Symptoms of Dandruff
1.The main symptom of dandruff is the presence of flaky skin region present in and around the scalp area. The scales can vary in size from small dust-like particles to large, greasy, yellow flakes.
