Color blindness
Color blindness is also known as Color vision deficiency. It is defined as a condition in which certain colours cannot be distinguished. There are two types of Color Blindness:
Red/Green Color Blindness:
It is the most common type of color blindness. Majority of the patient suffering from Color Blindness, have Red/Green type. The patients suffering from this problem, have problem in distinguishing between red and green colors.
Blue/Yellow Color Blindness:
This type of color blindness also exist in which the patient is unable to distinguish between blue and yellow colour. But this type of color blindness is very rare and there are no specific tests available for it.
Problems faced by people suffering from color blindness
People suffering from color Blindness are unable to make good choice of clothes while doing shopping. Those people are unable to distinguish between Traffic lights, that whether they are red, that or yellow unable to distinguish between the colors of flowers in a garden.
Color blind people are unable to distinguish the colors in a map. Color vision deficiencies creates lots of problem for the children who are affected from this disease in the earlier years of their age. For them, in the school, coloring becomes difficult, when they have to use a blue crayon instead of pink one to color the ocean. A color blind person even faces difficulties while cooking.
They cannot tell whether their piece of meat is raw or well done. They are unable to tell the difference between green and ripe tomatoes or between chocolate syrup and ketchup. Many color blind people cannot tell whether a woman is wearing lipstick or not
Causes of color blindness
In a human eye there are present cones that is colour sensitive receptor that is color sensitive receptor. Their cone contains single visual pigments selective for red, green and blue light.
