Blemishes
Blemishes are commonly seen in both male and female. They are commonly seen during the adolescent age. But there is specific period in life for it occurrence. It may be seen even in elderly people.
Treatment of blemishes
First of all, the face is properly cleaned with a gentle, oil and fragrance free cleanser. Preferably a non detergent one is used who has been labeled as balanced PH.
But if a person has oily skin all over the face then he/she should use a cleanser that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. Person should not scrub. It is because if scrubbed, then the irritated skin swells around the pores which can lead to breakouts.
If the face is not oily then, skin toner should be used, otherwise it may dry out the skin. Then apply a topical cream containing benzoyl peroxide, glycolic acid or salicylic acid over the entire surface, not just where blemishes have already erupted.
At night, person should use a drying spot treatment and oil free moisturizer on dry areas. In the morning, the person should apply an oil-free sunscreen gel over the entire face. Then a small make up brush is used to dab concealer or cream foundation (in the exactly some shade as the skin) directly onto the blemish.
Person should use a fingertip to wipe away excess concealer around the blemish and if necessary, another coat of concealer is applied. If the make up becomes cakey, then it is carefully wiped off and start over. The gently powder is brushed on top of the concealer, in the exact same shade as that of the skin.
If a person has oily skin, then clay masks are used of ten near about after every three days to absorb excess oil. In order to stop redness and swelling in certain patients in an emergency situation like wedding, job interview, etc. in them cortisone injection may be given by doctor for an immediate relief. But the blemishes are not life threatening problem.
