Baldness
Baldness particularly refers to excessive hair loss from the scalp. Hair loss may have started with a few extra hairs in the sink or in person’s comb. Some people prefer to let their boldness run its course untreated and unhidden. While others may cover it up with hairstyles, make up, hats or scarves.
Causes of baldness
There are various causes of baldness, which are as follow: Diseases, like diabetes, lupus and thyroid disorders can cause hair loss. Person’s undergoing chemotherapy or radiation therapy may also develop baldness.
After the treatment ends the person’s hair typically begins to regrow. Poor nutrition like having inadequate protein or iron in the diet may also lead to the development of baldness. Fad diets, crash diet and certain illnesses, such as eating disorders can cause poor nutrition.
Certain drugs used to treat gout; arthritis, depression heart problems and high blood pressure may also lead baldness in some people. Person who takes birth control pills also may develop baldness. Newborns often lose hair during the first several months of life.
Treatment of baldness
Baldness, whether permanent or temporary, cannot be curd. But treatments are available to help promote hair growth or hide hair loss. The drugs used for treatment of the baldness are like Minoxidil, Finasteride, Corticosteroids, Anthralin, etc. are used.
Hair transplants and scalp reduction surgery is available to treat baldness. During transplantation a dermatologist, take tiny plugs, of skin, each containing one to several hairs, from the back or side of the person’s scalp. The plugs are the, implanted into the bald reactions. Surgical procedures to treat baldness are expensive and can be painful
