Abortion

Abortion is defined as in woman who does not carry out full term pregnancy. It is a patient who suffers from two or more miscarriages, repeatedly then it is known as habitual or repeated abortion. But intentionally abortions are fully a big crime.

The abortion pill

It is a form of early abortion caused by the combination of two medications, that is mifepristone and misoprostol. The abortion pill is an early abortion option for women who are 8 weeks pregnant or less.

Functioning of the Mifepristone

The drug Mifepristone blocks the hormone progesterone needed to maintain the pregnancy. Because this hormone is blocked, the uterine lining begins to shed, the cervix to soften and bleeding may occur.When the misoprostol is later inserted into the vagina, the uterus contracts and the pregnancy is usually expelled within 6 to 8 hours. Person should not confuse the abortion pill with Emergency Contraception Pills. They are completely different medications taken for different purposes.

The abortion pills causes pregnancy termination is established yet early in the pregnancy, that is 8 weeks since last menstrual period. Most of the side effects when using this early abortion option are caused by the second medication, misprostol. Side effects may headache, nausea, vomiting diarrhoea and heavy cramping. But if pregnancy is continued even after taking these medications then there is a high risk of fetal deformities. There is no known long term risks associated with using misfepristone with using misoprostol. Therefore, woman may pursue another pregnancy whenever they feel the time is right after using the abortion Pill.

Expectations from Mifepristone

Upon taking mifepristone at the clinic, the woman may begin to bleed. As each woman's body is different, hence bleeding varies from woman to woman. Some may experience light bleeding much like spotting towards the end of a menstrual period. Others have heavier bleeding like their irregular menstrual period or like heavy periods. Some women do not experience any bleeding until taking the misoprostol. Upon inserting the misoprostol tablets into the vagina, cramping, bleeding and clotting may begin as soon as 20 minutes. Within the next 6 to 8 hours, most women will miscarry. Cramping may come in waves with increasing. Avoid decreasing intensity. Woman can expect bleeding heavier than a menstrual period with large clots.
